Dexter Fowler is absent from the Cardinals' lineup Monday.
Advice: He's been benched in two of the last three games, as Tyler O'Neill is getting a third straight start after homering the last two games. Fowler is batting just .160/.281/.292 this season.
Dexter Fowler had a hit, a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Phillies.
Advice: That's a Fowler type of line, one we haven't seen much of from the 32-year-old recently. The steal was just his third in five tries this year, and the usually on-base proficient Fowler owns a paltry .281 OBP through 40 games this year. With Tyler O'Neill in town to push all three starting outfielders, perhaps it's the push Fowler needs to start producing at the dish and on the basepaths.
Even as the rest of the Cardinals were combining on 15 hits and 12 runs scored, Dexter Fowler went 0-for-4 with a walk Friday against the Phillies.
Advice: Fowler is 2-for-10 in three games since returning to the Cardinals lineup on Wednesday; he was held out of three of the previous four games because of his struggles. The Cardinals are trying to remain patient, but Harrison Bader has given them reason to believe he might be a better choice in right field.
Dexter Fowler is out of the Cardinals' starting lineup again on Tuesday against the Twins.
Advice: Fowler, who's batting just .146/.257/.285 this season, also sat out of Sunday's series finale in San Diego. Harrison Bader has earned more playing time and will get another start in right field.
