    Wednesday BP: Former Giants closer Jake McGee announces retirement

    Jake McGee announced his retirement this week after 13 seasons in the major league at age 36. McGee started the 2022 season with the Giants, but was released in July after a disappointing start to the season (7.17 ERA over 21.1 innings pitched). After being released by the Giants, he signed as a free agent with the Milwaukee Brewers, then was claimed off of waivers by the Washington Nationals, before ultimately being released in September.

    Piscotty among non-roster invitees to SF Giants spring training

    Pleasanton native Stephen Piscotty is looking to jumpstart his Major League Baseball career in the Bay Area in the new season, receiving an invitation to compete at San Francisco Giants spring training after spending the end of last year in the minors following his release by the Oakland Athletics. Piscotty, a 2009 Amador Valley High graduate and former standout at Stanford University, is among 37 non-roster invitees announced by the Giants on Monday.
