Rangers put Perez on DL after LHP hurts right thumb at hotel

A hotel door has jammed up Martin Perez and the Texas Rangers. In the latest setback for a depleted Rangers rotation, Perez was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday after injuring the thumb on his non-pitching hand in an accident at the team hotel. Stanley proved dedication and hard work pay off, and he is returning to South Florida with the Cup. Sebastian the Ibis of the NCAA University of Miami and Billy the Marlin of the MLB Miami Marlins are other local mascots who’ve held, hoisted, hugged, and kissed the Cup on championship teams in

The Yankees announced the moves late Friday after their extra-innings victory over the Texas Rangers. Austin has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and started at first base in Saturday afternoon's game against Texas. Carter went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Friday, dropping his batting average to .204. The veteran slugger belted 41 home runs last season -- tied for the most in the National League -- but has homered just eight times this season while striking out 70 times in just 167 at-bats. "We
