The New York Yankees are winning games, they're just not scoring in bunches recently. Despite scoring 17 runs in their last six games the Yankees have four wins and can notch another series win Sunday afternoon when they conclude a three-game set with the Oakland Athletics. New York is in position to win the series despite scoring four runs on seven hits and striking out 23 times.
After the game, Trout acknowledged he was “sore,” but didn’t care to speculate on the potential severity or how much time he might miss. Immediately following the injury, Trout was examined on the field by a trainer and initially stayed in the game. He took the field in the bottom of the fifth, but was ultimately removed in the sixth. The Oakland Athletics have brought right-hander Jharel Cotton back from the minors to start at Yankee Stadium and put righty Jesse Hahn on the 10-day disabled list. The A's recalled Cotton from Triple-A Nashville to pitch Saturday against New York. There had been speculation the Athletics might also put righty Kendall Graveman on the DL because of a sore shoulder.
