Veteran right-hander Ivan Nova will get another chance to prove himself, joining the Colorado Rockies organization, FanSided.com reported Monday. It is expected to be a minor-league deal for the 34-year-old, who has a 90-77 record over 11 seasons with a 4.38 ERA. In 240 career appearances (227 starts), he has pitched 1,347 2/3 innings for the New York Yankees (2010-16), Pittsburgh Pirates (2016-18), Chicago White Sox (2019) and Detroit Tigers (2020).
His last outing at Oakland went a lot smoother, as he allowed two runs in 6 2⁄3 innings of work. Bauer has struck out 10 in both outings, putting his SO/9 number at a career-high 13.8. In addition, he’s barely issuing any hits or walks as his WHIP is only 0.69.
Anthony DeSclafani and three relievers combined to scatter eight hits and San Francisco beat Colorado 4-0 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep.
