The Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals just recently finished up a three-game series at Coors Field that saw the Rockies triumph two wins to one. We’ll see if they can collect a similar result when the two teams run it back in Missouri as they begin the series anew on Tuesday. Kyle Freeland (7-8, 4.84 ERA) had a rough go against the Cards this past Wednesday when he allowed five runs in the top of the first inning.
Albert Pujols has found his stroke at the plate as of late. The future Hall of Famer and St. Louis Cardinals veteran recently had a multi-home run game. He’s been fantastic against left-handed pitching as well.
The lone change to the lineup from the last time the Cardinals saw a lefty on Sunday was that Paul Dejong hit sixth, and Tommy Edman hit seventh. They are flipped in today's lineup. Yadier Molina was also reinserted into the eight-hole, which now seems to be reserved for catchers, as that is where Cardinals backstops have hit since Molina's return off the IL.
