Michael Grove Getting 'Every Opportunity' To Make Dodgers Postseason Roster

With the regular season winding down and their playoff seeding all but official, the Los Angeles Dodgers are now just looking ahead to the postseason and setting up their best roster to win a World Series title. The position-player side of things is set, barring any unforeseen circumstances, but how the pitching staff will shape up remains in the air, according to Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. The Dodgers currently have 14 pitchers on their roster, but the postseason limit is 13, so the team will have a tough decision on who to cut. Michael Grove was the most recent pitcher to join the roster, making him the long shot to earn a spot, but the Dodgers have not ruled out carrying the right-hander on their roster.

Dodgers Roster: Michael Grove Activated, Gavin Stone Optioned

The Los Angeles Dodgers reinstated Michael Grove from the 15-day injured list and optioned Gavin Stone to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Grove returns after missing nearly seven weeks due to right lat tightness. After spending multiple weeks recovering at Camelback Ranch, Grove began a rehab assignment with Oklahoma City on September 7.

Dodgers minors: Jorbit Vivas, Michael Grove, Kyle Hurt, River Ryan

Jorbit Vivas hit for the cycle on Thursday for Oklahoma City, breaking out of a two-week slump by hitting his first three extra-base hits since getting promoted to Triple-A. Vivas struck out in the first inning, but then got to work. Vivas has the first cycle for Oklahoma City since Michael Busch hit two in a five-day span in late August 2022.
