Report: Blue Jays exploring new stadium

The Toronto Blue Jays are exploring the possibility of a new stadium, in an ambitious plan that would put a new ballpark on the land where their current retractable-roof stadium now sits, according to The Globe and Mail. The Blue Jays have played at Rogers Centre since 1989, in a ballpark that was considered far ahead of its time when it opened with a roof that could open and close and with a hotel that has rooms overlooking center field. A potential snag to the plan is that the team does not own the land where their stadium sits, as it belongs to Canada Lands Company.

So the figuring above would put the Jays on the low end of that range, which facilitates some overweighting in other areas such as below.

Top Landing Spots and Trade Packages for Brewers RP Josh Hader Amid Rumors

The Fit With 2019 closer Ken Giles and 2020 stand-in Anthony Bass both hitting free agency, the Toronto Blue Jays have work to do in rebuilding their bullpen around standout setup relievers Rafael Dolis and Jordan Romano. Starting pitching is the most glaring need this offseason, but there is something to be said for how a dynamic relief corps can take some pressure off the starting staff. This team looks ready to take a step forward as the young core continues to grow.
