    After touching Roberto Clemente bat, Oswaldo Cabrera hits first home run in 3 months

    Oswaldo Cabrera credited Roberto Clemente for helping him hit his first league home run in more than three months. “I went there yesterday and the guy said like: Hey, if you hold this bat, you’re probably going to get a homer tomorrow,” Cabrera said after hitting his first big league home run since June 3 in the New York Yankees’ 6-3 win on Saturday night. Cabrera hit a drive to right in the eighth against Thomas Hatch for his fifth big league home run this season.

    Yankees place Anthony Misiewicz on concussion IL, reinstate Ian Hamilton

    The Yankees announced this afternoon that they've placed right-handed pitcher Anthony Misiewicz on the 7-day concussion injured list. Misiewicz suffered a scary injury in last night's game against the Pirates, taking a hard line drive to the head. The team said that after the game, Misiewicz was “alert and oriented” at Allegheny General Hospital. Ian Hamilton will take Misewicz's place on the active roster.
