Twenty-four players from the Detroit Tigers became minor-league free agents, including pitchers Jack O'Loughlin, Elvis Alvarado and Trey Wingenter.
The Detroit Tigers parted ways with relievers Trey Wingenter and Andrew Vasquez on Monday as they pruned their roster to open the offseason. Wingenter, a right-hander, and Vasquez, a southpaw, were outrighted to Triple-A Toledo after they went unclaimed on waivers. Wingenter, 29, made the Tigers' Opening Day roster after signing as a minor-league free agent before the 2023 season. Wingenter had a 5.82 ERA in 17 innings with the Tigers in 2023, striking out 22 and walking seven.
