To sign or not to sign: free agent SP edition (Part 2)

There are a lot of starting pitchers on the free agent market, not necessarily a lot you might want, but certainly a lot of options. This will happen no matter how crazy the starting pitcher market might get. What I attempted to do in part one and will continue for this post is identify the starting pitchers and try and guess who will be undervalued by the market and who won't be. If the Cardinals spend money on three pitchers, which is a possibility, they will have to spend it somewhat wisely, even if they have a bigger budget than we think.

Orioles spoil another Kyle Bradish gem vs. Astros in 2-1 walk-off loss, ending 4-game winning streak

Brandon Hyde has shown his sarcastic side this week. The Orioles manager's bullpen entered Wednesday's game having covered 14 1/3 innings over the previous three nights. On Wednesday morning, he once again quipped his taxed bullpen, which needed two innings from starting pitcher Jack Flaherty the night before, was “fresh.” The dire state of the Orioles' bullpen was never more evident than in the late innings of Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Houston Astros.

Orioles win 4th straight, blast Astros, 9-5, behind Austin Hays' two-homer game: 'We're clicking right now'

No player in the major leagues is more familiar with Camden Yards' unnatural left field wall than Austin Hays. Playing at a stadium with a different — but also strange — one Tuesday, Hays took advantage of Minute Maid Park's shorter left field, blasting two home runs and leading the Orioles to a 9-5 victory. Baltimore's bats combined for 10 hits and four homers for the club's fourth straight win — a streak that follows its four-game skid last week — to drop the Orioles' magic number to win the American League East to eight.
