    Rays hope to stick to identity for another win over Tigers

    On Thursday afternoon in the 2023 season opener, Tampa Bay rang in the new season by earning a victory in just about the most Rays way possible -- great pitching, strong defense and just enough offense. The Rays will try again Saturday afternoon when they host the Detroit Tigers in the second game of a three-game series in St. Petersburg, Fla. Each side managed just six hits, two being homers by Tampa Bay's Jose Siri and Wander Franco.

    A look at what's new at Comerica Park for Detroit Tigers 2023 season

    With Opening Day in Detroit just around the corner, we got a look at what's new at the ballpark this season. The Tigers have already started the 2023 season on the road, but will return home on April 6 for the home opener vs. the Boston Red Sox. The Tigers held their annual “what's new” event on Friday, showing off new season features and activities. All Tuesday home games at Comerica Park will be “313 Value Games,” with $19 lower-level tickets available, in addition to $3 bottled water and fountain drinks, $1 chips and $3 hot dogs.

    Veteran infielder who lost Tigers' roster battle signs with Mariners

    Veteran infielder Cesar Hernandez, who opted out of his contract after failing to make the Detroit Tigers' Opening Day roster, has signed a minor-league deal with the Seattle Mariners. The news was first reported by El Extra Base. Hernandez, who turns 33 in May, has played in parts of 10 big-league seasons and has been an everyday second baseman for the last eight seasons.
