W-L%, a mark better than what every other team in baseball has posted to this point outside of the New York Yankees, Houston Astros and Los Angeles Dodgers. That’s not happening. So, once again, the Rockies will be in the “seller” bucket for the upcoming trade deadline on August 2.
David Peralta, Alek Thomas and Carson Kelly homered, and Merrill Kelly pitched seven strong innings Friday night to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 9-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies, who lost a starting pitcher to injury for the second straight game. Peralta added an RBI double and Thomas a run-scoring triple for the Diamondbacks, who took advantage of Antonio Senzatela's early exit to begin July strong after being shut out five times last month. The difference?
The Diamondbacks wasted little time taking advantage of the conditions on Friday night, scoring early and continuing to add on runs en route to a 9-3 win, their third victory in their past four games. Josh Rojas and Alek Thomas opened the game with consecutive extra-base hits, setting the stage for a two-run first. Thomas added a two-run homer later in the game, and Carson Kelly and David Peralta connected for solo shots.
