It's been nearly two months since the Yankees announced that starting pitcher Domingo Germán would miss the remainder of the season after entering an alcohol abuse program. The Dominican right-hander appears to be doing better, according to teammate Oswald Peraza, an infielder who has exchanged text messages with Germán. “We spoke a little over text,” Peraza told NJ Advance Media on Thursday. Germán, who arrived at Yankee Stadium under the influence of alcohol, trashed the clubhouse on Aug. 2, confronting manager Aaron Boone and teammates.
Former New York Yankees starter CC Sabathia has been in Domingo German's shoes before. "Just to really dig in and figure out what the problem is," Sabathia said at his PitCCh In Foundation's 3rd annual Charity Golf Tournament in New Jersey.
