Big League Stew - MLB

It was my hope that news of a newly-completed Roy Halladay(notes) trade would carry us through a slow Monday in July. But with the Blue Jays and Phillies apparently engaged in the mother of all staring contests as J.P. Ricciardi's self-imposed Tuesday deadline approaches, hopeful Torontonians can now attempt to further cheer themselves up by watching the 1996 Jays lip sync their way through Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land."

Because if Joe Carter dressing up like Davy Crockett and mouthing one of the song's solos won't make you smile, there probably isn't much that will.

A big BLS head nod to Tao of Stieb, which posted this back on Canada Day, but did us all a grave disservice by not calling more attention to it.
