This is way cool. Over on our obituary for Phillies great Robin Roberts, a commenter named Pat Edmonson alerted us to this multimedia book report that his fourth-grade son, Kellen, did on Roberts' "My Life In Baseball." The core of the project is a phone interview that Kellen did with Mr. Roberts and it's nice to just sit back and hear the Hall of Fame pitcher tell some humble stories. (The tale of how Roberts approached Babe Ruth and got his autograph as a kid is particularly good.)
What's great about this clip is that, just as we've learned from the passing of Ernie Harwell, it appears that Roberts also had time for everyone, whether it was a curious schoolboy or one of the nation's best sportswriters.
