Last Friday, I wrote that sharing the stands with inconsiderate idiots was an "unfortunate reality" of attending ballgames in the year 2010. I was talking about drunks fighting each other in the stands and occasionally loving each other in the bathroom stall next to you. I encouraged everyone to take a stand and report the behavior to security whenever it happened.
I was not, however, talking about "fans" who would allegedly throw up on someone's 11-year-old daughter — intentionally — at a Phillies game. It's simply mind-boggling behavior and I have to admire the little girl's off-duty police captain father for not completely losing his mind and ending up in jail himself. I'm not sure I would have been able to do the same.
(Judging by the man's mug shot, however, it looks like someone got in a good shot on his left eye. He's lucky to get away with only a shiner if he really did what he's being accused of.)
