The days after a World Series win are usually marked by visits to late-night television shows that we chronicle here on Big League Stew. We did the embed business when four Yankees cozied up with Letterman back in 2009 and then again in 2010 when the San Francisco Giants turned into a boobtube goldmine. Freddy Sanchez(notes) did whiskey shots with George Lopez, Brian Wilson(notes) explored his nautical side and The Machine set his sights on Jay Leno. To the victors go a sofa seat and an applause sign.
In continuing with our tradition, here are the first two appearances made by members of the 2011 St. Louis Cardinals. Tony La Russa rides off into retirement with the plum spot on David Letterman's show in New York while David Freese(notes) appears in my nightmare on Jay Leno's show while giving his props to Justin Bieber (really). Enjoy.
