CATCHER

Kyle Higashioka - New York Yankees (vs. Detroit Tigers - SP Jose Urena)

I’m somewhat all in on this Yankee game today. The wind is blowing out. It’s not particularly cold (nor is it hot) and Yankee Stadium is becoming the new Coors Field. Higashiaka has home runs in two of his last five games. He’s averaging 7.1 FPPG and currently has a 1.088 OPS. It is usually boom or bust for this kid but against Urena, I think the young catcher goes deep today. His salary is rising across the industry. Roster him now at $ 4,000 on DK because in a few weeks you might see him amongst the elite catchers.

Other C options: Mitch Garver, Sandy Leon & Tony Wolters

FIRST BASE

Miguel Cabrera - Detriot Tigers (vs. New York Yankees - SP Corey Kluber)

Kluber just came off a solid effort against the Baltimore Orioles relieving many Yankee fans. Today he faces the Detroit Tigers who have lost three in a row but look to get back on track against a pitcher they’ve seen many times before. You have to be careful when analysing BvP stats with players such as Miguel Cabrera who have been in the MLB as long as they have. Sometimes these stats could have been from many years prior, which (to me) makes them less relevant. With that said, Cabrera’s stats are very impressive against Cluber. The veteran first baseman is batting .379 with six home runs over 66 at bats against Corey Kluber. The Detroit Tigers are a solid GPP stack today especially after facing such a tough pitcher in their last matchup. The Detroit Tigers are underdogs at +205 with a 9 O/U.

Other 1B Options: Carlos Santana, Colin Moran & Mike Ford

SECOND BASE

DJ LeMahieu - New York Yankees (vs. Detroit Tigers - SP Jose Urena)

LeMahieu has at least one hit and one run in each of his last five games. His ability to get on base gives the Yankees a huge advantage especially when he’s followed by Stanton and Judge. The Yankees second baseman has a .728 OPS. He’s also averaging 7.1 DKFPPG. If you have the salary, invest in LeMahieu because he carries a high floor as well as a massive ceiling.

Other 2B Options: Adam Frazier & Niko Goodrum

THIRD BASE

Jose Ramirez - Cleveland Indians (vs.Chicago White Sox - SP Lucas Giolito)

It’s going to be interesting to see who wins the battle between a red hot Lucas Giolito and Jose Ramirez. Giolito last faced Cleveland on 4/13 and lasted 7.0 innings allowing just three hits and no earned runs. He struck out eight batters. Ramirez will not allow Giolito to put up those stats today. Look for Clevelands super star to lead them to victory today, he’s worth his high salary.

Other TB Options: Jeimer Candelario & Rafael Devers

SHORTSTOP

Gleyber Torres - New York Yankees (vs. Detroit Tigers - SP Jose Urena)

The weather in New York is becoming the perfect environment for a home run. While the heat and humidity might not be the best, it seems as if we have 11 MPH winds blowing out to center field. Yankee Stadium is already one of the most batter/hitter favorable stadiums in the league. Players that have the muscle, might be getting a little extra help today. Judge just came off of a 2 home run game. Both the Yankees and Tigers will be swinging for the fences today in a game that I predict will be close and high scoring. I actually love a full game stack here including as many home run hitters as you can afford. I do not like Corey Kluber to succeed today but nor do I expect Jose Urena to either.

Other SS Options: Xander Bogaerts & Trea Turner

OUTFIELD

Gregory Polanco - Pittsburgh Pirates (vs. St. Louis Cardinals) - SP Carlos Martinez

The 29 year old left-handed Polanco is back in action averaging 6.4 DKFPPG (fantasy points per game). Polanco has been successful in specific matchups. His ceilings are high and his floor is basically zero. In his last game, we saw a 10.0 DK fantasy point effort, going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Prior to last night, his next next impressive effort was on 4/25 when he totalled 22.0 DK fantasy points at a salary of just $3,400. Since 4/12, Polanco has had 3-4 specific games where he has significantly exceeded value. Well today, he is batting 5th against a pitcher who he has a .483 batting average against with four doubles, one triple, and one home run over 29 at bats. Another thing to note is that over his 29 at bats against Martinez he has eight walks. This tells me that Polanoc sees Martinez well. Pittsburgh left-handed outfielder might just be a one-off considering the rest of Pittsburgh’s offense looks bleak.

Other OF Options: Giancarlo Stanton, Akil Baddoo, Aaron Hicks & Robbie Grossman
