Tampa Bay Rays (vs. Baltimore Orioles - SP John Means)

The Tampa Bay Rays totaled nine runs on 12 hits in last night’s 9-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore allowed five home runs, two of which were hit by Brandon Lowe. Tonight, the Rays face off against John Means and a heavily used Baltimore bullpen. Means has allowed Tampa Bay to hit a team .275 batting average with nine total home runs over 109 at-bats. Specific players who have hit Means well in the past include: Mike Brosseau (5 for 11 with four home runs vs. Means), and Randy Arozarena (3 for 7 with three home runs vs. Means). The sample sizes are small but Tampa Bay has clearly proven to be able to hit Means. If Means is forced to leave the game sooner than anticipated, I fully expect Tampa Bay to take advantage of a tired Baltimore bullpen. Baltimore has the highest bullpen ERA so far this season at 5.47. Although they might be a popular stack after last nights performance, I believe investing in the Tampa Bay Rays again tonight is still lucrative.

Top Plays: Randy Arozarena, Wander Franco, Manuel Margot & Yandy Diaz

Value: Mike Brosseau *if starting* & Mike Zunino

Pivot: John Means

Philadelphia Phillies (vs. Arizona Diamondbacks - SP Caleb Smith)

It is looking like Caleb Smith will get the nod. If Smith is not able to supply at least six innings of steady production, it can be problematic considering Arizona has the second highest team bullpen ERA in the majors. Not only does Arizona have a 5.37 bullpen ERA but their bullpen has allowed 71 total home-runs this season. Despite being labeled GPP stack, I am just as confident in the Philadelphia Phillies producing tonight as I am in the Tampa Bay Rays. These two stacks can be played in cash games, GPP tournaments, or any other DFS formats. Smith will be starting on short notice.

Top Plays: Jean Segura, Alec Bohm, J.T. Realmuto

Value: Andrew McCutchen

Pivot: Caleb Smith
