CASH STACKS

Cleveland Indians (vs. Pittsburgh Pirates - SP Chad Kuhl)

The Cleveland Indians have a favorable matchup against Chad Kuhl and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Over his last seven games, Pittsburgh’s starter has a 6.52 ERA while averaging just 5.4 Draftkings points per game. Kuhl had a horrible effort in his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers allowing five earned runs over 3.1 innings pitched. Left-handed batters are hitting much better against Kuhl with a .264 BA over 53 at-bats. Pittsburgh’s bullpen has been performing well with a 3.89 ERA. Most of Cleveland’s damage should come against Kuhl. My top plays are Cesar Hernandez, Eddie Rosario, and Bobby Bradley. Bradley has jumped into the five slot behind Rosario. He should be looking at increased RBI opportunities. Other valuable options include Josh Naylor and Bradley Zimmer who will be batting 6th and 7th tonight. Pointsbet.com has Cleveland favored at -131 with a 9.0 O/U.

Top Plays: Cesar Hernandez, Eddie Rosario, and Bobby Bradley

Value: Josh Naylor and Bradley Zimmer

Milwaukee Brewers (vs. Colorado Rockies - SP Antonio Senzatela)

The Milwaukee Brewers versus the Colorado Rockies should be a popular game to invest in tonight for daily fantasy purposes. Pointsbet.com has the Brewers favored at -200 with a slate high 10.5 over-under. The Brewers were shut down by German Marquez last night but I fully expect them to demolish Senzatela tonight. Senzatela has shown better numbers at home compared to the road. The Colorado Rockies starter has allowed just two home runs at home over 47 innings pitched. While these numbers are great, I am fully expecting Milwaukee to even out his home run splits tonight. Great stats like this don’t last forever, especially when you’re pitching consistently in Coors Field. Senzatela allows high batting averages to left-handed and right-handed batters. Lefties are batting .293 over 157 at-bats and righties are batting .294 in 126 at-bats. These numbers are too high for him not to get burned at some point. Senzatela has allowed a 4.40 ERA over his last five starts and has yet to face the Brewers this season. Also, the Colorado Rockies have the second-highest bullpen ERA in the majors at 5.34. Hard-hitting lefties such as Daniel Vogelbach, Christian Yelich, and Omar Navarez could potentially have massive outings tonight. These three batters should make up Milwaukee’s two, three, and five slots in their lineup. Expect Senzatela’s homerun stats to rise after tonight's matchup.

Top plays: Daniel Vogelbach, Jackie Bradley Jr. & Christian Yelich

Value: Omar Narvaez

GPP STACKS

San Diego Padres (vs. Cincinnati Reds - SP Tony Santillan)

The Cincinnati Reds bullpen has a 5.67 ERA so far this season. This is ranked highest in the majors. They also lead the majors with 43 total home runs allowed. The Cincinnati Reds face of against the San Diego Padres tonight. Cincinnati is sending Tony Santillan to the mound. Santillan has only played one game this season. This was against the Colorado Rockies. He lasted 4.2 innings allowing five hits and one earned run. Very impressive. Left-handed batters were 4 for 10 in this matchup. Right-handed batters only totaled one hit over eight at-bats. If Cincinnati’s starter cannot duplicate another solid four or five-inning performance, their bullpen will come into play. The San Diego Padres carry massive upside (even in a slump). They have the personnel to put up 10 + run efforts and that’s what I believe they will do tonight. As a team, the Padres have struggled at times but are capable. The Padres have lost seven of their last nine. Top players from this matchup will including Eric Hosmer, Trent Grisham, and Jake Cronenworth. The Padres are favored by -196 with a 9.0 O/U.

Top plays: Eric Hosmer, Trent Grisham, Jake Cronenworth

Value: Victor Caratini

Fading Atlanta (vs. St. Louis Cardinals - SP Carlos Martinez)

Carlos Martinez has a 5.54 ERA this season. Martinez is 1-5 on the road and has yet to face Atlanta this season. St. Louis’ veteran starting pitcher has a 7.61 ERA over his last five starts With all that said, I like Martinez tonight. Oddly enough he’s allowing sub .240 averages to left-handed and right-handed batters. The home run ball has not been a problem. Martinez has simply allowed a massive amount of hits. Over his last 23.2 innings, Martinez has allowed 24 total hits. This could be a favorable matchup for Martinez. The Braves earn much of their production through home runs. Atlanta is ranked fourth in the league with 96 total home runs but are simultaneously ranked 22nd in the league with just 517 hits on the year. The Braves produce with home runs. Martinez has proven to limit the long ball throughout his struggles this past month. Martinez could be a solid GPP selection against an Atlanta team that many people are seemingly confident in. Last night I selected German Marquez and Wade Miley for similar reasons. Despite Martinez’s recent struggles, look for him to get back on track tonight against a possibly chalky Atlanta Braves stack. Having the guts to fade the chalk and trust in the stats is an extremely important skill/ability to have when playing DFS.
