Report: Red Sox sign Ryan Brasier to new contract originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston

Arbitration won't be necessary for the Boston Red Sox and relief pitcher Ryan Brasier after all.

The two sides agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.4 million on Tuesday, according to FanSided's Robert Murray.

Brasier, who joined the Red Sox in 2018, has a 3.49 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 134 total games with Boston. He spent most of 2021 in the minor leagues before posting a 1.50 ERA in 13 appearances with the big-league club. The 34-year-old will be arbitration-eligible again next year.

Other Red Sox players eligible for arbitration this winter are Rafael Devers, Hunter Renfroe, Kevin Plawecki, Nick Pivetta, Josh Taylor, Christian Arroyo and Alex Verdugo.
