The Cubs will be well represented on one of the minor leagues' biggest stages next month.

MLB announced the rosters for the 2021 MLB Futures Game on Wednesday, and outfielder Brennen Davis and pitcher Manuel Rodríguez will represent the Cubs.

The Futures Game is an annual event during All-Star weekend featuring top minor league players competing in a seven-inning exhibition game. It's scheduled for July 11 at 2 p.m. CT at Coors Field.

Davis is the Cubs' No. 2 overall prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old made his Double-A debut earlier this month, after making a strong impression on the Cubs this spring.

"He really put his stamp on the first time I got to really see him play in person in spring training," Cubs manager David Ross said.

"The athleticism, the ability to go get the ball and run the bases, the physique and what he looks like and continuing to develop at such a young age."

Davis is the latest Cubs top position player prospect to play in the game the past few years. Current Cubs Kris Bryant and Javy Báez played in 2014, and former Cub Kyle Schwarber was named MVP in 2015.

Rodríguez, 24, is in the midst of a strong season with Tennessee, sporting a 2.03 ERA in 13 relief appearances. He's on the Cubs' 40-man roster.

"That's super positive to be around that environment of the Futures Game, other future stars, guys you end up competing against or playing with," Ross said.

"That's such a huge accomplishment for those guys and I'm happy for them."
