ARIEL EPSTEIN: What's up, Yahoo Fantasy? I'm the Prop Queen, Ariel Epstein here with a pitcher and two hitters to put in your MLB DFS lineups tonight. Let's start with the pitcher. He's $34 and it's the Cleveland Guardians right-hander Aaron Civale.
You might listen to me and say, you are absolutely nuts. This pitcher has been atrocious all season. Yeah, he has. This is a great get right spot, though.
Against the Detroit Tigers last year, the team that he's facing tonight, the Tigers only hit 147 against him. Civale went 3-0. He also had a sub 2 ERA against the Tigers in 3 starts. That's not going to change this year, because the Tigers and the second worst OPS against right-handed pitchers and the worst OPS went on the road.
With the Tigers at Cleveland, I'm going to take Aaron Civale and put him in my lineup tonight. For my second baseman, he's $18 and that's the Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres. Against the Chicago White Sox starter, Dallas Keuchel and his career, Torres is hitting 400 with a double and two RBI.
Even going back to last season against the White Sox, Torres destroyed Chicago. He hit 667 in 12 at bats, he went 8-12 with a double, a home run, and 8 RBI. I'm going to put Gleyber Torres in my lineup tonight, especially because he hits better at home with a 0.259 batting average versus away with a 0.241. I know 0.259 is not great, yet sometimes hitters just really like playing certain teams, and it looks like that way for Torres and the White Sox.
For my last play, he's $15 and that's the Orioles first baseman/designated hitter Trey Mancini. He's going up against the Tampa Bay Rays' starter Jalen Beeks, and Beeks has struggled against him. Mancini's gone 5-7 with two doubles.
Even though it's a small sample size, home road splits are really good for Mancini. At home, Mancini's hitting 0.306. On the road, he's hitting 0.271. Mancini also hit 0.318 against the Rays with four home runs in 2021.
