ARIEL EPSTEIN: What's up, Yahoo Fantasy? I'm the prop queen, Ariel Epstein, and I've got three different players that you should keep a close eye on and possibly put in your DFS lineups tonight in Major League Baseball.
Let's start with a pitcher. I'm looking at, for $32, the Philadelphia Phillies right hander Zach Eflin. His home-road splits are actually unbelievable. His home ERA, a 1.57. Road ERA, 8.10. What on earth is going on here? Eflin loves pitching at home.
Next, he's up against the Los Angeles Angels, who have the third highest K rate in baseball against right-handed pitchers. This is the team that has the highest K rate that Eflin has seen so far this year against righties. He's also gone 6 and 7 innings in his last two home starts, which means that Eflin's going to get that time to rack up some strikeouts, in addition to potentially getting this win against the Angels.
Only four Angels players have gone up against Eflin before, which does give him that early advantage. I'm going with Zach Eflin in my lineup tonight.
Now, for an outfielder, for $16, I'm playing the New York Mets center fielder Brandon Nimmo. Nimmo's basically in the .300 club for this game. He's hitting .300 against left handed pitchers, which the Dodgers are putting a lefty on the mound in Tyler Anderson. Nimmo is also hitting .319 on the road. He's hitting .500 against Anderson in his career, going 3 for 6 with a home run and an RBI. Lastly, Nimmo hit .438 last season at Dodger Stadium, going 7 for 16, with a double, home run, and RBI. Brandon Nimmo is worth the $16 in your lineup tonight.
Now for an infielder. He's $14, and that's the Pittsburgh Pirates' third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes. The Arizona Diamondbacks starter is right hander Merrill Kelly. On the road this year, he's got an ERA above a 5. In the month of May, his ERA went above a 6. He is struggling, Merrill Kelly.
Then I look to which Pittsburgh Pirates player hits the best at home, and which one does well of late. And that's the Ke'Bryan Hayes. Hayes is hitting .292 on the year. He leads all Pittsburgh batters with a .286 batting average at home. And Hayes is hitting .429 in the last seven days with a double, home run, and four RBIs. I like Ke'Bryan Hayes in my lineup tonight.
Here's your MLB DFS recap. For $32, I'm playing the Philadelphia Phillies right hander Zach Eflin. For $16, New York Mets center fielder Brandon Nimmo. And $14, Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes.
That's it for me, the prop queen, Ariel Epstein, here on this Friday in Major League Baseball Daily Fantasy. Good luck tonight, and have a great weekend.
