Mizzou still searching for first SEC win after loss to Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mizzou remains winless in SEC play after a loss against Vanderbilt as both teams were searching for the first conference win.

Mizzou went up 20-9 nearly halfway through the first half but Vandy responded with a 10-0 run to get within one.

The Commodores went into the half up 32-29 and their momentum carried into the second half, starting with an 8-2 run to go up by eight.

Mizzou hung tight throughout but couldn’t break through down the stretch.

The Tigers got 20 points and six rebounds from Noah Carter and KCK native Tamar Bates put up 17 points and five boards.

Ezra Manjon led Vanderbilt with 17 points.

The Commodores outrebounded Mizzou 42-31 while shooting 40% from the field while Mizzou shot 37%.

Missouri is now 8-14 overall, 0-9 in conference play and they host Texas A&M on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
