Report: Mitchell Trubisky dealing with dislocated shoulder and labrum tear, but could return soon
The Chicago Bears received good news about their starting quarterback. Mitchell Trubisky is dealing with a dislocated left shoulder and has a slight labrum tear, but he’s expected to be back “sooner rather than later,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Bears coach Matt Nagy did not address that report Monday, saying “somebody knows more than me” when asked about the situation.
Trubisky lasted just a few plays against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday after he fell awkwardly on his non-throwing shoulder. Trubisky was replaced by Chase Daniel, who helped lead the team to a 16-6 win over the Vikings. Later in the contest, Trubisky appeared on the sideline with his left shoulder in a sling.

The 25-year-old Trubisky will travel to London for the team’s Week 5 game against the Oakland Raiders, according to Schefter. Trubisky is not expected to play in that game. Khalil Mack, on the other hand, is very much looking forward to taking on his former team.
In Trubisky’s absence, the 32-year-old Daniel played well. Daniel completed 22 of 30 passes for 196 yards and one touchdown. More important, Daniel didn’t turn the ball over against a tough Vikings defense.
Until Trubisky returns, Daniel will continue to fill in as the team’s starter. As long as he plays mistake-free football and allows the Bears’ defense to do its thing, Chicago should be able to stay afloat in a suddenly tough NFC North.
