Mitchell gymnastics places second at Patty Jorgenson Invite

Jan. 8—BROOKINGS — Mitchell gymnastics placed second at the Patty Jorgenson Invite Saturday.

The Kernels posted a 143.675, their lowest score of the season. Harrisburg won the meet with a 146.975, while Watertown placed third (139.1) and Brookings was fourth (135.65).

The Kernels' Olivia Prunty finished second all-around with a 36.600. She placed first on floor (9.675), third on the vault (9.300) and fifth on bars.

Keyana Kelley was fourth all-around with a 35.775, placing second on vault (9.400), third on floor (9.500) and fourth on beam (9.050). Bentley Bates placed second on bars (9.200) and Aubrey Gelderman was third on floor (9.500).

Katelyn Maeschen of Harrisburg won the all-around title with a 37.675.

The Kernels' triangular meet Monday in Mitchell is canceled due to weather. The Kernels will compete in the Huron Invitational at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at the Tiger Activity Center.
