Mississippi State women's basketball lands Erynn Barnum, an All-SEC Arkansas transfer

STARKVILLE — Arkansas forward Erynn Barnum announced she is transferring to Mississippi State women's basketball.

Barnum, who averaged 15 points per game last season, was the leading scorer for the Razorbacks and an All-SEC second team selection.

"I heard all the talk, im silencing all the critics," Barnum wrote Saturday on Twitter.

Barnum has played four seasons at Arkansas. She averaged five points as a redshirt-freshman (2019-20) before averaging just below eight points the following two seasons. It was last season where she made a big jump.

Barnum started 37 games in 2022-23 for the Razorbacks, including four to help lead them to the WNIT Great Eight. She finished 11th in the SEC in scoring and third in field goal percentage (55.6). She also averaged 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Barnum is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, who attended Little Rock Central High School.

She's the third transfer addition of the offseason for coach Sam Purcell, who is entering his second season with the Bulldogs. MSU landed Seton Hall All-Big East guard Laura Park-Lane on April 23. On Thursday, MSU added another All-Big East guard in DePaul transfer Darrione Rogers.
