STARKVILLE — Mississippi State basketball is back at Humphrey Coliseum looking to extends its winning streak to three as the run toward March Madness heats up.

MSU (14-8, 2-7) hosts Missouri (17-5, 5-4 SEC) on Saturday (5 p.m., SEC Network). It's the first meeting between the programs since the Bulldogs hired coach Chris Jans in March and the Tigers did the same with Dennis Gates.

Both have seen success in Year 1. Mississippi State opened the season with 11 straight wins. Despite a stretch of eight losses in nine games, MSU is looking to make a push toward the NCAA Tournament behind key wins against TCU, Marquette and Utah. Missouri poses a chance at a second Quadrant 2 win.

Missouri has been in and out of national polls since a dominant win against Illinois on Dec. 22. The Tigers have taken down Kentucky, Arkansas and Iowa State. However, all but one SEC win (at Ole Miss) has come at home.
