'Missing out on KVV is a bitter pill to swallow'

We asked for your thoughts on Motherwell's January transfer business, after Adam Devine and Jili Buyabu signed on deadline day.

Here's a taste of what you had to say:

Andrew: Preposterous, the fact we could not match Kilmarnock's package for Van Veen says it all. The board of directors should be marched our the door. Why we need so many full-backs totally defies belief. Hopefully the signings made can carry the club forward. The next three games are crucial in determining where this club is heading.

Kevin: Embarrassing. Need to rename us Full-back FC. Kettlewell has become another Alexander. We are defensively minded but leak goals galore. Losing out to Killie on Van Veen said it all. No doubt he’ll score the winner against us on Saturday.

Anon: On the face of it, some of the additions this month look decent, with Halliday, Nicholson and Devine coming in to give us more depth. We massively needed another striker though, we cant just go with Bair and Vale for the season and the always injured Obika, hopefully can look at a free agent for that area.

Cameron: Motherwell have done a lot of sensible business, recruiting much needed wing-backs and a couple of smart additions in Nicholson and Halliday. However, the failure to bring in another striker/forward is shocking. Obika can’t stay fit, Bair has improved but still doesn’t strike me as a first choice, and that leaves just Vale to lift us.

Graham: Good to get some new players in including a badly-needed striker but missing out on KVV is a bitter pill to swallow. His goals kept us up last season and the fact that Motherwell can no longer compete financially with the likes of Kilmarnock and St. Mirren is a real worry.
