What the Vikings are getting in Brandel
The Central Catholic, Portland, Oregon product was one of the nation's best pass-blocking tackles in college football last season. The Vikings ranked 10th in sacks allowed last season at 2.1 per game.
Brandel also had an 82.5 PFF grade for run-blocking and should find success operating in Gary Kubiak's zone blocking scheme that Dalvin Cook thrived in last season.
Last season in Corvallis, Artavis Pierce averaged 6.0 yards per carry while Jermar Jefferson averaged 4.8 yards per carry, largely due to the blocking of the offensive line anchored by Brandel.
