Minnesota State sweeps, Beavers snap scoreless skid in 5-2 loss

Feb. 17—MANKATO — The Bemidji State women's hockey team suffered a third consecutive sweep after a 5-2 loss against Minnesota State on Saturday.

The Beavers trailed 1-0 in the first period before Alyssa Watkins leveled the game. The Mavericks scored four straight goals before Rylie Reeves buried her first career goal on the power play in the third period. Watkins' goal was the first by any Bemidji State player since Jan. 27.

Goaltender Eva Filippoa made 23 saves in goal for BSU (4-26-2, 3-22-1 WCHA). Hailey Hansen stopped 14 shots for MSU (12-20-0, 6-20-0 WCHA).
