Mina Kimes: Seahawks moving on entirely from Geno Smith would be foolish

The Seahawks have two more games left to play this season – and possibly a wild-card game after that. At the moment it seems unlikely given that they’ve lost five of their last six games, including a few against inferior opponents. Even if they do squeak into the playoffs, the likelihood of this team winning a postseason matchup on the road is pretty fanciful.

That means it’s about time to start thinking about next year. Question No. 1 for the Seattle front office this coming offseason will be how to improve their defense, which is the main reason they’ve dropped below .500. After that they need to decide what to do with Geno Smith.

Ask ESPN analyst and Seahawks superfan Mina Kimes and she’ll say it would be foolish to move on from Smith entirely, but she won’t rule out the team drafting a quarterback, though. Here’s what she had to say about the QB situation earlier this week on ESPN.
