CHRISTOPHER CRAWFORD: You probably weren't expecting to see a video recommending Brad Miller as a fantasy option before the season. I certainly wasn't expecting to record one's suggesting so, but here we are. Miller punctuated a strong week on Sunday with a 2-4 effort against the Rays with a double. And he's now slashing a very respectable .304/.366/.500, with 5 homers in 112 at-bats.

Keep in mind that the 31-year-old didn't begin the year in a regular role for the Phillies, but he certainly earned it with his strong play. The advanced statistics here are impressive. Miller is in the 92nd percentile in average exit velocity and hard hit percentage, the 88th percentile in max exit velocity, and the 80th percentile in expected batting average. On top of those numbers, he's eligible in Yahoo leagues at first base, second base, third base, and in the outfield.

It's tough to beat that versatility on top of the production he's providing with it. It's certainly understandable if you're skeptical of Miller based on track record, but the production has been awfully impressive. And at the very least, his ability to help at four positions, you can do a lot worse on the bottom of your bench.
