2023 is officially the Year of Miley.

Miley Cyrus’ new single “Flowers” just broke the Spotify record for most streams in a single week on the platform with over 96 million streams, becoming one of the singer’s biggest hits of her career.

The song is a powerful anthem about finding your strength after a breakup and is quickly becoming one of the most listened to songs in the country — and the world. It will be featured on her upcoming album Endless Summer Vacation, which is out March 10.

In the song, which is seen by many as a response to her relationship with ex Liam Hemsworth, Cyrus celebrates her freedom and herself, letting the world know that she can love herself better than anyone else can.

Cyrus also released a music video in which she walks to a picturesque LA house, strips down to her underwear, swims, dances, and works out. At the end, she puts on a suit and dances joyfully.

In its first week on Spotify, streams for “Flowers” grew each day. On the day it was released, the song had 7.71 million streams, and by its third day, it had passed 10 million. On the fourth day of its release, the song crossed 15 million streams a day and it has had over 17 million every day since then, leading to a peak (so far) of 17.48 million.

The 17.481 million streams of “Flowers” make it the fourth most of any song on a single day on Spotify ever. Only the Adele song “Easy On Me” and the Christmas classics “Last Christmas” and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (which holds the record for most streams in one day as the only song to have over 20 million streams in a day) beat Miley’s latest single.

When the song debuts on the Billboard Hot 100, many expect it to topple Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” and SZA’s “Kill Bill” to take the number one spot. If it does, it will be Cyrus’ first top-ten single since 2017’s “Malibu” and her first number-one since 2013’s “Wrecking Ball.”

We know we won’t stop listening to “Flowers” any time soon, and we can’t wait to hear the next single off her upcoming album!
