Middle school baseball teams open seasons on Jan. 29-30

Jan. 23—MOULTRIE — The Colquitt County seventh- and eighth-grade baseball teams will open their seasons next week with a pair of home games at Packer Park.

The seventh-grade Packers, under the direction of head coach Tyler Dismuke and assistant Matt Burton, will face off with Lee County West at 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.

The next day, the eighth-grade team, which again will be coached by Ian Brinson and assistant Jarvis Lambright, will meet conference opponent Hahira, also at 4 p.m.

The seventh-graders will be home again on Monday, Feb. 5, to face Pine Grove.

The team then will play five straight road games before returning to Packer Park on Monday March 4, to play Tift County.

The 12-game schedule will conclude on Wednesday, March 20, at Thomas County Central.

The seventh-grade team's roster includes Wesley Allen, Parker Bennett, Noah Burket, Hayden Butterfield, Jaden Chambers, Nicholas French, Braiden Glenn, Braylen Inlow, Ashton Luckey, Marcus Norman, Devan Powers, Grayson White, Ja'brael Williams and Brodie Womack.

The eighth-grade team will play a 14-game regular-season schedule that will end on Thursday, March 14, with a home game against Coffee.

The conference tournament will run March 18-22.

The eighth-grade Packers are Chase Giddens, Jackson Dorminey, Bradley Bryan, Briar Littleton, Tripp Bridges, Owen Avery, Bray Sams, Sy Jones, Javian Daniels, Trenton Coney, Gavin Henderson, Cade Hopper, Wesley Hall, Regan Bozeman, Carson Taylor, Chase Enfinger and Easton Harlow.

The middle school conference includes Colquitt County, Tift County, Coffee, Valdosta, Lowndes, Pine Grove, Hahira and Thomas County Central.
