Michigan survives Illinois upset bid with late field goal

Michigan’s Jake Moody was the Lou Groza winner in 2021. He saved the Wolverines’ unbeaten season on Saturday, kicking a 35-yard field goal to down Illinois, 19-17.

Moody kicked all 4 of his field goals in the second half as the Wolverines struggled but overcame a 17-10 deficit.

The win sends Michigan to Columbus next Saturday with an unbeaten record for its annual rivalry game with Ohio State.
