Michigan State vs. Michigan Prediction: Undefeated, top 10 rivals set for battle

·1 min read

It doesn’t get much bigger than this.

Michigan and Michigan State — two programs and fan bases that hate each other — will battle in a top 10 showdown this weekend. This matchup of undefeated squads will take place at Spartan Stadium, with Michigan State looking for their second straight victory over the Wolverines.

Who will win this major rivalry matchup between the Spartans and Wolverines? Let’s see what the Spartans Wire staff thinks in our weekly predictions.

Prediction: MSU – 35, Michigan – 28

I think this will be a shootout, despite having two strong defenses. Both teams had recent bye weeks and I think the running backs will steal the show, but of course, I’m taking Sparty at home.

Prediction: MSU – 17, Michigan – 20

Michigan State has yet to be tested by a presumable elite opponent. The Spartans will have that this weekend, and i don’t know that they will have the fire power on both sides of the ball to take this over 4 quarters.

I have a funny weird feeling that this game isn’t going to be the final play nailbiter that many expect, and the Spartans will somewhat convincingly win this matchup. Both teams have strong rushing attacks but I also think both teams will be prepared to stop the run. So it’ll come down to who can make more plays in the passing game and special teams. I like the Spartans in both of those aspects more than the Wolverines so give me Michigan State to pick up this massive rivalry win.
