Michigan State reveals uniforms for Michigan game

In East Lansing, they say ‘go green, go white,’ but there will be very little white worn by the home team.

Last week, against Michigan, Northwestern trotted out a more traditional look with the purple helmet, white jersey, and purple pants. However, the Wolverines’ next opponent will be sporting more of a color rush look, it announced.

Michigan State revealed on Twitter on Thursday afternoon that they will be donning all green uniforms. And when we say all green, we mean 98% green, with just the lettering, the Spartan outline, and the numbers being white. The facemask is even green, though they will be wearing black gloves and black shoes, while it appears the sleeves are also black.

The Spartans donned a similar look, albeit with different helmets, the last time they played in the rivalry at home. Michigan won that game 21-7 and held the MSU offense to just 94 total yards.

As for Michigan, it’s unlikely that the Wolverines will reveal what they’re wearing before the game. The team wore all-blue uniforms for the home game against Washington in Week 2 and in Week 5 against Wisconsin, the Wolverines wore the road white jersey with blue pants. However, the next week on the road in Nebraska, Michigan went back to its traditional all-white look.

Certainly, the maize and blue could forego the blue and wear the all-maize uniforms, as those have been a showcased variation this offseason. The only time that Michigan wore said uniforms was in the 2017 season opener against Florida in Arlington, Texas.
