Mel Tucker has made it clear in construct of Michigan State football’s defense he puts a premium on building with size and from the back end.

Chalk up another big defensive back for the Spartans’ 2022 class.

Ade Willie from IMG Academy in Florida announced his commitment to MSU on Monday. Unlisted in 247Sports.com’s composite rankings, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback is rated a three-star prospect by the recruiting site and listed as the No. 92 corner nationally. He previously played for Legacy High in Broomfield, Colorado before transferring to IMG in 2020.

Willie picked the Spartans over Colorado and Arizona, with other offers from schools such as Boston College, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Virginia.

He is the Spartans' 13 commitment for 2022 and fourth defensive back, along with Georgia safeties Malik Spencer and Quavian Glover and Tennessee athlete Shannon Blair. Tucker also brought in four high school and four transfer defensive backs during the 2021 cycle.
