Michigan State basketball: Gabe Brown, Malik Hall getting paid to sign autographs
Gabe Brown and Malik Hall are cashing in on the NCAA’s new name, image and likeness rules.
The two are the first Michigan State basketball players to get paid to make a personal appearance. Brown and Hall will sign autographs from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Pro Sports Zone, 37644 West 6 Mile Road in Livonia. Cost is $20 per autograph, and another $8 for JSA authentication on-site.

“We are excited to usher in the new era of NIL by making history with a basketball program and (coach Tom Izzo), who has always done things the right way” said Detroit based Attorney Steve Haney, General Counsel of Parlay Sports & Entertainment, who represents a number of NBA players. “For Gabe and Malik, this is an opportunity for them to monetize their name, image and likeness and take advantage of these exciting new financial opportunities.”
Terms of the deal were not released.
Brown, a senior, and Hall, a junior, join Pierre Brooks II and Keon Coleman in taking advantage of NIL rules. The two freshmen agreed to social media deals with Lansing-based Moneyball Sportswear in July.
