Michigan QB Brandon Peters knocked out of game vs. Wisconsin
Michigan quarterback Brandon Peters was knocked out of the game against Wisconsin.
Late in the third quarter, Peters, making the biggest start of his young career, was drilled by Andrew Van Ginkel when delivering a pass downfield. He landed hard on the turf on either his shoulder or head.
Here’s another look. Van Ginkel really drove Peters into the ground right after he let go of the ball.
Peters was down on the turf for a few minutes before being carted off the field. Peters sat up on the cart and looked alert as he was taken off the field for further evaluation. Peters showed flashes of promise against the tough Badgers defense, throwing for a career high 157 yards before the injury.
Peters, a redshirt freshman who was making his third career start, was replaced by senior John O’Korn. O’Korn started three games after the team’s opening day starter, Wilton Speight, suffered a serious back injury in the win over Purdue on Sept. 23.
O’Korn’s play was inconsistent, so Jim Harbaugh put in Peters on Oct. 28 against Rutgers. He has started every game since.
