Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh shouts out Texans WR Nico Collins

Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh took a moment out of his College Football Championship post-game press conference to praise one of his former players – Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins.

Harbaugh reminisced a bit about recruiting and coaching Collins during his four years at Michigan and noted how exciting it is to see him excel in the NFL.

“Keep doing you, Nico,” Harbaugh said Monday.” It’s working.”

While Harbaugh just won the national championship for Michigan, Collins hopes to lead the Texans to the Super Bowl. Collins finished with a career-best 80 receptions for 1,297 yards eight touchdowns, including a nine-catch, 195-yard and one-touchdown performance in the Texans’ Week 18 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Collins broke out in his third NFL season, but it was his first in Bobby Slowik’s offense with C.J. Stroud under center. But he’s already proven to be one of the best young wideouts in the NFL. Collins now faces the toughest secondary in the NFL, though, that limited him to just four catches for 18 yards and one touchdown back in the Week 16 loss.

This time, though, Stroud will be back under center – he missed the last Browns game with a concussion – which should surely change the dynamic of the offense.
