Michigan football lands two commitments, including an LB from California

Two players committed to Michigan football on Friday, including another California native.

Los Angeles County linebacker Kevonte Henry and Canadian offensive tackle Alessandro Lorenzetti announced their decisions on Twitter.

Henry, a three-star recruit in 247 Sports' composite rankings, held offers from multiple Pac-12 schools, including USC, Oregon and Arizona State. Among the Power Five schools that pursued the 6-foot-6, 285-pound Lorenzetti were Michigan State, Georgia and Penn State.

Henry and Lorenzetti become the 11th and 12th players to join Michigan's 2022 class, which has added five prospects since Saturday. Henry's commitment came on the heels of Jayden Denegal, a four-star quarterback from Apple Valley, California, delivering a verbal pledge Wednesday.

The Wolverines appear to be actively recruiting the West Coast after former Michigan offensive lineman Courtney Morgan, a Los Angeles native, was hired as director of player personnel in April.

Henry, listed at 6 feet 4 and 225 pounds, made an official visit to Michigan earlier in June. He is the No. 833 prospect in the nation, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Lorenzetti, a three-star recruit who plays at the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut, is not ranked by the website.
