Nearly three years ago, in the summer of 2019, Michigan football managed to reel New Jersey native Jordan Morant, a heavily-recruited four-star safety, into the class — despite his insistence that he would take the bulk of the 2020 recruiting cycle to make a decision.
2020 was a safety-heavy class, with Morant, fellow Garden State defensive back RJ Moten, and West Bloomfield’s Makari Paige all pledging to the Wolverines. Moten is a likely starter in 2022, while Paige is battling for the opposite job with Rod Moore, but Morant has struggled to see the field outside of special teams. After spring ball, he was announced to be in the NCAA transfer portal.
And now we know where he’s heading. On Saturday, Morant took to Twitter to announce he’s heading to the ACC, to play for the Duke Blue Devils.
Morant isn’t the only former Wolverine to end up at Duke via transfer in recent memory. J’Marick Woods moved to Durham after a few years in Ann Arbor.
