Michael Vick congratulates Lamar Jackson after first playoff win originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Michael Vick and Lamar Jackson will forever be intertwined in the history of the NFL.

Not only because of the fact that the two share a similar style of play as dual-threat quarterbacks that are nearly unstoppable when running the football, but because Jackson has been the only QB to dethrone Vick from the record books.

During his 2019 MVP season, Jackson broke Vick's single-season rushing record for a quarterback by tallying 1,206 yards. Jackson then rushed for 1,005 yards in 2020, becoming the first quarterback to have 1,000 or more yards on the ground twice. The two are also intertwined in other records such as the fastest players to get to 5,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards as well as double-triples.

On Sunday in the AFC Wild Card Round Jackson accomplished another major milestone, picking up his first career playoff victory as Baltimore defeated the Tennessee Titans, 20-13. Following the contest, Vick took to Twitter to congratulate Jackson.

Jackson responded, showing love and appreciation for one of the quarterbacks that laid the groundwork for Jackson to succeed with his style of play in the NFL.

Jackson's win may have not created any records, but it was a big moment for the third-year pro. Finally getting over the hump after two quick exits from the playoffs the past two seasons, old narratives were put to bed
