A year ago saw Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons see a dream become a reality when the Dallas Cowboys selected him with a first-round draft pick. Parsons, of course, went on to have a stellar rookie season with the Cowboys and earned a unanimous NFL defensive rookie of the year award. Now, as Parsons gets to sit back and watch the draft unfold merely just to see where some of his former teammates and the rest of this year’s draft class will end up, Parsons is offering some words of advice to the players going through the draft process.
“Every rookie getting drafted, I hope you all know this is your moment,” Parsons said in a message posted to his Twitter account. “This is your time to enjoy all your hard work and dedication! Don’t let anyone ruin your moment!”
That certainly sounds like good advice. For any player waiting to get a phone call, the draft can be a long, drawn-out process. While a good number of players feel certain that call will come at some point, the longer a draft goes on without a call can lead to some stress.
Penn State is expected to have a good number of players drafted, beginning with one or two potential picks in the first round and more scattered throughout the remainder of the draft.
Every rookie getting drafted I hope you all know this is your moment! This your time to enjoy all your hard work and dedication! Don’t let anyone ruin your moment! 🙏🏽
