After pounding out 13 hits in the opener, the Mets managed just four hits in the nitecap and were edged by the Nationals, 4-3. Alcides Escobar's two-run homer in the 5th inning off Mets starter Tylor Megill, gave Washington a 4-1 lead. Kevin Pillar's two-run shot in the 6th made it 4-3, but New York had to settle for a split of the doubleheader.
