With injuries ravaging their starting rotation, the Mets plan to pitch Jordan Yamamoto this weekend in Miami, according to team sources.

The expectation now -- with the caveat that the best-laid pitching plans can change -- is for Yamamoto to either start Saturday or Sunday, or follow an opener on one of those days. He started for Triple-A Syracuse Wednesday, but was removed after two shutout innings and 29 pitches.

Currently, the team is down Jacob deGrom, Taijuan Walker, and Carlos Carrasco -- not to mention Noah Syndergaard.

Manager Luis Rojas is winning raves from evaluators for his management of bullpen games, no easy task.
